The University of Washington PharmD program accepts applications for the autumn quarter only. Our admissions cycle opens annually in mid-July.The autumn 2025 prefrerred deadline is December 1st, 2024 and the final deadline is April 1st, 2025. Applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis. Rolling admissions means that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early in the application cycle and to sign up for the earliest possible interview day.

UW PharmD does accept international students, but please note that most international coursework will not count towards the prerequisite requirements. For more details on international applications, please see our International Applicants page.

Students who have previously attended another pharmacy school in the United States and are seeking to transfer to the University of Washington School of Pharmacy must meet the same admission requirements as first time applicants. This includes successful completion of all prerequisite coursework and submission of the application by the application deadline. Transfer students must be in good academic and professional standing at their current school in order to be considered for admission.

Due to differences between PharmD academic and experiential education requirements, transfer applicants should expect to complete four years of study at the UW School of Pharmacy in order to complete their degree.

Note: Students who have completed more than one year in a PharmD Program at another school will not generally be considered for admission.

As a public university, the University of Washington has different tuition rates for state residents and nonresidents. State law sets the rules governing who qualifies as a resident for tuition purposes. Students must meet these requirements to be verified as residents for tuition purposes. Students admitted to the UW PharmD program as nonresidents should be prepared to pay nonresident tuition for all four years of pharmacy school. Students interested in applying for residency should review the requirements on the UW Residency Office web site and work directly with the UW Residency Office.

Students Exploring Pharmacy (STEP) is a 4-day program designed to inspire high school students as they explore pharmacy as a career option. Students engage in hands-on activities that provide an introduction to pharmacy practice and perspective on the numerous ways a pharmacist contributes to improving people’s health—in ways that go far beyond dispensing medications.

For more details, please see our Students Exploring Pharmacy page.
