The Center for WE-REACH
The Washington Entrepreneurial Research Evaluation and Commercialization Hub (WE-REACH) is a public/private partnership designed to facilitate and accelerate the transformation of regional health research innovations into market ready products and services that impact health outcomes.
Within the Pacific Northwest, a combination of biomedical startups and over $1.6 billion in annual federal research expenditures have successfully ensured that many basic and technical discoveries have improved public health. To multiply these successes, WE-REACH intends to partner with the NIH, entrepreneurial communities, and other local and national organizations to mentor, support, and provide significant resources and funding to biomedical innovators with promising product concepts and valid technologies. Our goal is to serve as a catalyst in accelerating the creation of innovative small businesses and strategic partnerships in product development by transforming biomedical discoveries into impactful market ready products.
WE-REACH is now funded by the NIH with cash-matching UW institutional commitments and key organizational partnerships listed below. The WE-REACH team, led by Dr. Rodney JY Ho, looks forward working with our stake holders, mentors, and supporters to foster a growing community of biomedical innovators.
