UW Academic Calendar

The PharmD program follows the UW Academic Calendar, which is organized according to the quarter system and includes dates of instruction, the UW Final Exam Schedule, University holidays and observances, registration deadlines and related dates for adding and dropping courses, tuition and fees, and more.

PharmD Student Calendars

Student Services manages several Student Calendars on the Google platform, so you can view them in your own Google calendar app or on the UW PharmD Current Students Canvas page (UW NetID login required). Calendars include:

  • Student Events Calendar – events and meetings relevant to and/or planned by PharmD students
  • Community Outreach Calendar – events and activities planned and implemented by student organizations
  • PY1 First Year Exams – exams scheduled by faculty teaching PY1 courses
  • PY2 Second Year Exams – exams scheduled by faculty teaching PY2 courses
  • PY3 Third Year Exams – exams scheduled by faculty teaching PY3 courses
  • Elective Course Exams – exams scheduled by elective course faculty

Students may be given access to post events and meetings on the Student Events Calendar, according to the Guidelines posted below. Items posted on the calendar must be school-related activities (i.e., Registered Student Organization meetings, community outreach events, student fundraisers, etc.).

Requesting Calendar Posting Permission

  • All student organization presidents will be given permission to post to the Student Events Calendar before the start of fall quarter (Note: you will have to activate your UW Google account in order to post calendar entries).
    • If you are not a student organization president and would like to request permission to post to the Student Events Calendar, please send an email to Tony Bissiri (Associate Director of Student & Faculty Support) specifying the reason you need this (Note: you will have to activate your UW Google account in order to post calendar entries).
  • Once you receive posting permission, you will see the new calendar listed beneath your own calendar.
  • Faculty wishing to post entries to the exam calendars should email their Department Coordinators.

Student Events Calendar Guidelines

  • Event times are reserved in a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage student organization leaders to post their planned event in the calendar prior to pursuing a room reservation to prevent unknown double-booking between student organizations.
    • If there is a double booking, both parties must notify each other of the double booking before the second event can be posted. Events can be double booked as long as both parties agree the overlap is acceptable. The first organization to post their event must give written consent to the second organization to double book their slot. Contact information for Student Organization leaders is available on the Student Canvas Site.
  • Student organizations are discouraged from planning more than two (2) events during the same time slot unless all parties have agreed.
  • Students are encouraged to plan joint, collaborative events with other organizations whenever possible.
  • Do not cancel any other person/organization’s event on the Student Events Calendar.
  • Please remember that all PharmD students, staff, and faculty can view these calendars, so make sure your postings are respectful and relevant to the PharmD program.
  • Student Services staff members monitor all postings and have the right to remove or request changes to any posting.
