Plein Center Conference Travel Support

The Plein Center is committed to supporting UW School of Pharmacy student research in older adults and aging. An important step of this process is to present research findings at scientific and professional meetings. As such, the Plein Center will support travel to offset partial expenses to attend professional meetings to present research in older adults and aging-related topics for travel. Students are expected to explore travel support from other sources including: 1) funds from OPPE (PharmD only), 2) research programs from which the abstract was generated, and/or 3) conference specific student travel funds. Guidance on requesting funding according to PharmD or graduate student status is below.

PharmD Student Funding Request Form

PharmD students are encouraged to review the Conference Travel website for further information and to apply for funding.

Graduate Student Funding Request Form

The Plein Center will support up to four travel awards per year (up to $500) to support graduate students. Review the policies and guidelines below and then submit a Funding Request Form by the relevant deadline of the conference.

Apply Early
Funding is limited to conference registration and travel expenses defined by the UW Travel Guidelines. Funding is available on a first-come basis and may become exhausted mid-year if there is a heavy demand for conference travel support earlier in the year. Students interested in conference travel are highly encouraged to apply as soon as their abstract is accepted.

Expected Outcomes
As part of this award, we ask students to acknowledge funding support from the Plein Center on your research poster for the conference: Support was provided by the Plein Center for Aging.

Following the conference, please forward a copy of the poster or presentation slides to Smriti Patil (smritihp@uw.edu).
