Department of Pharmaceutics Student Awards & Fellowships

Ph.D. and Master’s students in the Department of Pharmaceutics can apply for the department awards below:

Award/fellowship Evaluation/Eligibility criteria Amount
Shen Award
  • Graduate students in PCEUT who are in pursuit of their thesis/dissertation research.
  • Selection will be based on academic merit and well-articulated justification for how the award will be used.
  • Preference for students who are engaged in pharmacokinetics research, methodological development, and/or clinical applications.
  • Must be used within one year of receipt
Support of $1000.00 during the academic year.

May be used to cover educational expenses such as books, research supplies, attendance and travel to conferences.

Application Deadline:

July 14th

 

Kelly Award
  • Graduate students in PCEUT who are in pursuit of their thesis/dissertation research.
  • Selection will be based on a well-articulated justification for how the award will be used.
Support of $1000.00 during the academic year.

Must be used to attend professional society meetings, training, and/or conferences.

Application Deadline:

July 14th

 

Levy Fellowship
  • Graduate students in PCEUT who are in pursuit of their thesis/dissertation research.
  • Selection will be based on academic merit.
  • Priority will be given to students who haven’t received another training award.
  • Cannot be used concurrently with another award.
  • TAship and mentorship experience will be considered as additional merit.
Support of $1000.00 during the academic year.

May be used to cover educational expenses such as books, research supplies, attendance, and travel to conferences.

Application Deadline:

July 14th

Ji-Ping Wang Award
  • Graduate students in PCEUT who are in pursuit of their thesis/dissertation research.
  • Selection will be based on academic merit and where this award will have maximum impact on the student’s progress in the program.
  • Priority will be given to students who haven’t received another training grant/award.
  • Cannot be used concurrently with another award.
Award is to cover tuition and stipend for one quarter.

Additional $1,000.00 may be used to cover educational expenses such as books, research supplies, attendance and travel to conferences.

Application Deadline:

Bradley Fellowship
  • Graduate students in PCEUT who are in pursuit of their thesis/dissertation research.
  • Selection will be based on academic merit and financial need.
  • Priority will be given to students who haven’t received another training grant/award.
  • Cannot be used concurrently with another award.
Award is to cover tuition and stipend for one quarter.

Additional $1,000.00 may be used to cover educational expenses such as books, research supplies, attendance and travel to conferences.

Graduate Student Conference Presentation Awards The student must:

  • be confirmed as a presenter;
  • be in a UW graduate degree program and presenting work developed at the UW (not a prior institution);
  • be enrolled in UW courses at the time of the conference (or enrolled in the spring and registered for autumn if conference is in the summer);
  • not have received a Graduate School conference award in the prior year (July 1–June 30).
  • Award requests are due prior to the conference. Requests must be submitted by department personnel via MyGrad. Conference awards will not be awarded retroactively.
  • $300 for virtual conference registration fee
  • $300 for domestic travel and conference registration fee
  • $500 for international travel and conference registration fee

Rodney Ho and Lily Hwang Endowment
  • Quality of and outstanding achievements in participating in the Biotechnology and Biopharmaceutics fields;
  • Must be a graduate and/or professional student in the School of Pharmacy pursuing biomedical and biopharmaceutical research and entrepreneurship excellence;
  • Selection is based on academic merit.
$1,000.00 to be awarded for scholastic purposes
