Department of Pharmaceutics Student Awards & Fellowships

Ph.D and Master’s students in the Department of Pharmaceutics can apply to the awards below.

Shen Award
  • Graduate students in Pceut who are in pursuit of their thesis research.
  • Selection will be based on academic merit.
  • Preference for students who are engaged in pharmacokinetics research, methodological development and/or clinical applications
  • Must be used within one year of receipt
 Support of $1000.00 during the academic year.

May be used to cover educational expenses such as books, research supplies, attendance and travel to conferences

Levy Fellowship
  • Graduate students in Pceut who are in pursuit of their thesis research.
  • Selection will be based on academic merit
  • Priority will be given to students who haven’t received another training award
  • Cannot be used concurrently with another award
Award is to cover tuition and stipend for one quarter.

Additional $1,000 may be used to cover educational expenses such as books, research supplies, attendance and travel to conferences

Application Deadline:

Ji-Ping Wang Award
  • Graduate students in Pceut who are in pursuit of their thesis research.
  •  Selection will be based on academic merit
  • Priority will be given to students who haven’t received another training grant/award
  • Cannot be used concurrently with another award
Award is to cover tuition and stipend for one quarter.

Additional $1,000 may be used to cover educational expenses such as books, research supplies, attendance and travel to conferences

Bradley Fellowship
  • Graduate students in Pceut who are in pursuit of their thesis research.
  • Selection will be based on academic merit
  • Priority will be given to students who haven’t received another training grant/award
  • Cannot be used concurrently with another award
Award is to cover tuition and stipend.

Additional $1,000 may be used to cover educational expenses such as books, research supplies, attendance and travel to conferences

GSFEI-Graduate Student Travel Awards
  • Graduate student travel awards are available to assist graduate students with travel fares to major national or international conferences so they may present papers or posters, or to serve as invited speakers. Students in the arts may receive funding to give invited performances or installations.
  • Each student must be confirmed as a presenter before funds are requested, and each student must be in a degree program and enrolled in courses at the time of travel. (If the conference is in summer and the student is not enrolled, then he/she must have been enrolled in spring and registered for autumn classes at the time of request in order to be eligible.)
  • Funds may be used only for airfare or fares supporting alternative modes of transportation (e.g., mileage, taxis); they may not be used for registration, hotels, food or other travel expenses.
  • Individual awards are limited to one every other year.
  • Priority will be given to graduate students who do not have other significant funding available for the travel and/or who have not received GSFEI travel funding in the past.
GSFEI: Awarded throughout the year / $300.00 towards domestic airfare or $500.00 towards international airfare

Deadlines: Requests due 2 months in advance of the month of travel

Rodney Ho and Lily Hwang Endowment
  • Quality of and outstanding achievements in participating in the Biotechnology and Biopharmaceutics fields
  • Must be a graduate and/or professional student in the School of Pharmacy pursuing biomedical and biopharmaceutical research and entrepreneurship excellence
  • Selection is based on academic merit
$1,000 to be awarded for scholastic purposes

 

Magnuson Award Department Criteria:

 

Selection Criteria

  • Scholars will be selected based upon academic performance and/or promise and the students’ potential contributions to research in the health sciences.
  • Special consideration will be given to Washington State residents and students of underrepresented groups in the Health Sciences Schools.

Application Procedure

By February 28 EOB each school should submit the name of the nominated student and the required application materials for each nominee:

  • Current program transcript
  • One-page statement of career objectives
  • One-page letter of recommendation from the supervising faculty member
One nomination will be solicited from each of the six Health Sciences Schools. For School of Pharmacy, the nomination will rotate between the 3 graduate programs; each selected recipient will be awarded approximately $30,000 in cash.
