Race & Equity Initiative Anti-Racism Resources

Created in the wake of George Floyd and other black people’s murders in 2020, this UW page provides a list of articles, websites, videos, podcasts, and more for those who want to gain a deeper understanding of historical and contemporary manifestations of racism in the United States.

Advancing Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science

SACNAS is an inclusive organization dedicated to fostering the success of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM. This national organization has 120 chapters across the country, including a chapter at UW-Seattle.

Faculty and Staff Affinity Groups

If you are interested in building community or fostering connections with other faculty and staff at the UW, you are invited to get involved with faculty and staff affinity groups. Current affinity groups at the UW include: Asian & Pacific Islander, Black, LGBTQ, Latinx, and Native.

Q Center

The Q Center is the professionally-supported resource, advocacy, and mentoring center for LGBTQ+ students and concerns at the UW

Title IX

Title IX is the federal gender equity law and this UW website provides information regarding sexual harassment and gender discrimination such as making a formal complaint, getting help, and resources to receive support and help

Student Veteran Life

The Student Veteran Life unit is run by former military service members to serve and support student veterans at the UW.
