PhD in Medicinal Chemistry
Research in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry encompasses questions of drug metabolism and disposition, drug design and delivery, and disease mechanism. Broadly speaking, we seek to understand how drugs and toxins interact with their targets and with detoxifying enzymes and transporters, as well as to understand the chemical and biochemical bases of cardiovascular, degenerative, developmental and infectious diseases.
PhD or MS Program in Pharmaceutics
At the University of Washington, research in the Department of Pharmaceutics encompasses studies on the fundamental aspects of drug absorption, disposition, and drug delivery to optimize drug efficacy and minimize drug toxicity. More broadly, our research is targeted towards translational and precision medicine where individualization of drug dosing regimens can be achieved.
PhD in Health Economics & Outcomes Research
The Comparative Health Outcomes, Policy, and Economics (CHOICE) Institute faculty, post-doctoral fellows and students conduct analyses of the comparative effectiveness, safety and cost-effectiveness of healthcare interventions to estimate value propositions and improve decision making by patients, clinicians, and policy makers.
PharmD-MBA Concurrent Degree
The partnership of UWSOP and the UW Bothell (UWB) creates a transformative educational opportunity for our PharmD students to earn their MBA with just one additional year of study. Students may choose a Leadership or Technology track for their MBA.

MS in Biomedical Regulatory Affairs (BRAMS)
The University of Washington’s Master of Science in Biomedical Regulatory Affairs trains professionals to effectively manage the process of bringing new medical products to market. In this two-year program, abbreviated as BRAMS, you’ll develop expertise in the regulations governing medical product development and learn how to lead every step of the regulatory process.
