A very special welcome to new Department of Pharmacy Assistant Professor, Dr. Jessica Beers, who officially joined the School September 2. Dr. Beers earned her PharmD in 2018 from Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy and completed her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2023 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is passionate about improving drug safety in understudied populations, and her previous research has focused on precision medicine, drug-induced liver injury, and the use of advanced cell culture models to predict drug metabolism and toxicity. Her current work integrates both basic and clinical research to investigate drug metabolism and disposition during pregnancy and lactation.
