Tell us why you chose UW.

The UW has one of the best Doctor of Pharmacy programs in the United States with a critical focus on evidence-based education and pharmacy practice.

What led you to study pharmacy?

Pharmacy allows providers a unique opportunity to be the most accessible and public facing healthcare professionals with multiple avenues to advocate for patients and patient care.

What experiences at the UW have been the most influential to you?

It’s exciting to be a part of the husky culture and even more, it’s a privilege to be a student at the University of Washington, where the educational standards are top tier, and the community is more like family.

What do you want to do following your UW education?

My goal after graduation is to apply for a residency in clinical pharmacy where I can further the education received at the UW while working to the top of my discipline. My dream career is to work as a clinical pharmacist.

Tell us about your in-school activities.

I’m currently on the legislative committee for the Washington State Pharmacy Association (WSPA) advocating for the advancement of the pharmacy profession.

What is one piece of advice that you have for potential new students or one thing you wish you knew before beginning your studies?

Two things stick out. It would have been good to sit down and have an older student show me what their daily schedule looks like and what tools they use to organize the volume of work that goes into this program. And second, I wish someone had drawn me a map for the health sciences building! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been lost there!

What is a fun or interesting fact about you?

I am currently working on a cookbook for busy students. It’s mostly crock pot and one pan meals and it’s still in the test kitchen phase. So far 90% of the meals have been…. very bad. But I’m still very optimistic and more importantly I won’t allow any inedible recipes to slip through!
