We are excited to announce that Elizabeth (Lizzy) Brouwer, PhD, will be re-joining the CHOICE Institute as a research scientist. Lizzy will be working on our ICER project team as a lead modeler. In this role, she will develop cost-effectiveness models and participate in the development of ICER project reports. Her first project, topic TBD, is scheduled for the July 2021 public meeting.
Lizzy earned her PhD from the CHOICE Institute in Spring 2020. Her dissertation research focused on the application of value-based insurance design to specialty medication in the face of copayment coupons.
In addition to working part-time with the CHOICE Institute, Lizzy dedicates the rest of her time as a Research Associate at Curta Consulting. When thinking about why she chose this field for a career, the answer is a simple one: “I am motivated by the enormous potential of health economics, real world evidence, and evidence-based health policy to change lives. Resources are finite, and millions of lives depend on whether spending is guided by evidence.”
Welcome back, Lizzy!
