Tell us why you chose UW.

I chose UW School of Pharmacy because it is consistently ranked among the top programs in the U.S. The program also has a strong reputation helping graduates with residency placement, job prospects, and establishing credibility in the industry.

What led you to study pharmacy?

I have always believed since my childhood that I will pursue a career that helps change people’s lives. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have gained a plethora of knowledge, skills, and experience that will help me achieve my goals. I wanted to study pharmacy because I want to use all that I have learned and will learn in the program to change the lives of people in the same way that this industry has changed my life.

What experiences at the UW have been / were the most influential to you?

I believe my current internships at UW have been among the most impactful experiences in shaping my pharmacy journey. They have provided invaluable learning opportunities and allowed me to gain insight from knowledgeable and experienced practitioners.

What do you want to do following your UW education?

After completing my education at the UW School of Pharmacy, I hope to pursue and successfully complete both a PGY1 and PGY2 residency to further develop my clinical expertise.

What are your future aspirations or goals?

My goal is to become an oncology pharmacist dedicated to improving the quality of life and treatment outcomes for individuals affected by cancer.

Tell us about your in-school activities?

I am currently involved in several in-school activities at the UW School of Pharmacy, serving as President of both NCODA (Network for Collaborative Oncology Development & Advancement) and the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, President-Elect of SNPhA (Student National Pharmaceutical Association), as well as a student ambassador and mentor.

What is one piece of advice that you have for potential new students or one thing you wish you knew before beginning your studies?

My advice for incoming pharmacy students is to believe in yourself and trust your abilities. You will encounter many opinions about how challenging pharmacy school can be or the “best” way to approach it but staying true to your own learning style and strengths is key to your success.

What is a fun or interesting fact about you?

An interesting fact about me is that I have a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
