Biography

Dr. Edwards has extensive experience developing and applying patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in adult and pediatric medicine, including pharmaceutical, surgical and other interventions in clinical research and care. The areas he has worked in include cystic fibrosis, chronic kidney disease, low back pain, peripheral artery disease, urethral stricture, craniofacial conditions, dentistry, autism, obesity, and deafness. Dr. Edwards also has experience developing and validating observer-reported outcomes (ObsROs) for patients who are not able to report for themselves. He is a past co-investigator with the NIH PROMIS Roadmap Initiative, integrating patient-reported information into HIV clinical care. Along with Dr. Devine, Dr. Edwards teaches Assessing Outcomes in Health and Medicine. He also teaches Survey Methods and Mixed Methods Research.
