Julia Fox is a third-year PhD student in Health Economics and Outcomes Research at the CHOICE Institute, University of Washington. Her research examines how peer referral networks influence treatment uptake among individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) and explores disparities in health outcomes among minority older adults. Her dissertation focuses on characterizing, quantifying, and mapping peer referral networks among individuals with OUD to develop a model that integrates these networks into comparative effectiveness analyses. Beyond her applied research, Julia is interested in the foundational philosophies of health economic research and the ethical trade-offs inherent in economic evaluation in healthcare. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric from Georgia College & State University and an M.A. in Economics from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.
