Tell us why you chose UW.

During the 4 years as an undergraduate student at UW (BS in Biology: Physiology, UW 2023) I have met a lot of amazing people who are caring, inclusive, and respectful. Therefore, when I chose the school for graduate study, I chose to continue being part of a community where everyone truly cares about each other. UW is also one of the universities with cutting-edge technology and various opportunities, so I was able to learn about some of the most advanced inventions from leaders in many fields. Additionally, I also love the view in PNW so much, with both city and nature within reach.

What led you to study pharmacy?

I have known I want to study medicine-related fields since I was in high school. As I grew up and throughout my undergraduate studies, I realized that clinical studies and patient care are something I really want to devote my future career to. Becoming a pharmacist is a natural and obvious choice for me, combining the two.

What do you want to do following your UW education?

I would like to become a clinical pharmacist working in the oncology or transplant field.

Tell us about your in-school activities?

I have joined NCODA (Network for Collaborative Oncology Development & Advancement) and participated in the Isoherranen lab.

What is one piece of advice that you have for potential new students or one thing you wish you knew before beginning your studies?

Make sure you save an abundant amount of time to relax, hang out with friends, and enjoy nature in the PNW.

What is a fun or interesting fact about you?

I fell asleep during exams sometimes.
