I chose the University of Washington because of the opportunities that I knew the school could supply me with. The location is central to many hospitals and locations that have a pharmacy, and I appreciated the abundance of options. I also enjoy the location because Washington is home, and staying here allowed me to continue my life without a big move, and that was crucial for me.
I have wanted to be a pharmacist for several years since I worked as a pharmacy technician previously at Seattle Children’s Hospital. I was really encouraged to apply after my mother passed away from cancer. She always wanted to be a pharmacist but was never able to make that dream come true. It was also amazing to see all of the therapies they have for treating many different disease states such as cancer. I wanted to make a difference in the best way that I knew how.
