Please welcome Marina Gano, the new Department of Pharmacy/CHOICE Institute Graduate Program and Operations Manager.
Marina grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, after first living in Germany and Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and Literature (Spanish and German) from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF).
Her career in higher education began in the Office of Admissions and Registrar at UAF, and then moved to the UW in 2014 as an advisor in Graduate Enrollment Management Services (GEMS). In this role, Marina provided advising, training, and support to the staff, faculty, students, and applicants of the three UW campuses.
Marina recently earned a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (Higher Education). Through her role in GEMS and her graduate program, she’s gained valuable knowledge and perspectives regarding graduate education and the UW, which will be of great value in her role.
In her free time, Marina enjoys cooking and trying new recipes, listening to podcasts, gardening, traveling, creating art such as needlework, painting, calligraphy, and spending time with her two cats Cosmo and Luna.
