Dennis Goulet receives first Scott Grimm Memorial Scholarship

Dennis GouletScott W. Grimm was a long-time friend of Medicinal Chemistry and the School of Pharmacy.  A Corporate Advisory Board member who enthusiastically supported our students and programs, he was also a leader in drug discovery and development via his 27-year career with AstraZeneca.  When Scott died in 2014, his family and colleagues established a permanent endowed fund in his name to support a high-achieving graduate student in Medicinal Chemistry, whose research supports the fight against brain cancer.

The Scott Grimm Memorial Scholarship is being awarded for the first time in 2017, to Med Chem graduate student Dennis Goulet, whose work in therapeutic antibodies supports cancer research.  Dennis will receive $1,000 towards expenses, such as travel and lab supplies, that are related to his research.

“I am very grateful to the family of Scott Grimm for their generous sponsorship of pharmaceutical research at UW,” said Dennis.  “This award will support my studies on the biophysical properties of antibodies and their relation to the safety and efficacy of antibody therapeutics.”

Congratulations to Dennis on this award!
