Anirban Basu publishes JAMA article on Mitigating Clinical Algorithmic Discrimination

There is significant concern that the growing use of algorithms in clinical practice can exacerbate health disparities by perpetuating discriminatory recommendations embedded in such algorithms.

In a recent Viewpoint article published in JAMA Health Forum, Anirban Basu – Professor of Health Economics and Stergachis Family Endowed Director of The CHOICE Institute – discusses five critical issues that should be considered in the development and practice of these algorithms to mitigate discrimination.
