Tell us why you chose UW.
UW is a leader in pharmacy education and research and is overall a great institution for anyone seeking to enter a STEM-related field, not just pharmacy. I had a really positive experience completing my undergraduate studies here, so naturally I wanted to come back for grad school.
What led you to study pharmacy?
Pharmacy captured my interest ever since I started working as a pharmacy assistant in high school. I especially enjoy all of the face-to-face interactions I get to have with different people, whether with patients, colleagues, or other providers outside of my profession. I love being social, so pharmacy is a perfect fit for what makes me feel fulfilled and happy.
What is one piece of advice that you have for potential new students or one thing you wish you knew before beginning your studies?
Get involved with a couple of things that genuinely interest you, but don’t overdo it. It’s important to still have a life outside of whatever you’re doing in school. You will feel less burnt out if you maintain a work-life balance (yes, it’s possible) and set boundaries for yourself.
What is a fun or interesting fact about you?
I play tenor saxophone – jazz is my favorite!
