Time Commitment:

2 hours of contact time/week for skills session; preparation, grading, and reflection out of class ~4 hours/week.


Skills Session Specific:

Varies depending on activities and courses, but may include:

  • Independently lead the activity for one skills session weekly
  • Prior to the assigned skill sessions, review all skill session-related material, including learning objectives, skills activities, assigned student readings, and therapeutics
  • Become familiar with pertinent background material for all disease states addressed in the skills session
  • Effectively facilitate and create an environment for learning clinical material via case-based teaching in small group format
  • Assess student performance and provide formative feedback
  • There may be periodic grading of assignments outside of class time

Residents will be required to attend the Resident Facilitation Workshop (Workshop 2).
