Douglas Barthold publishes paper on bladder antimuscarinics in Pharmacoepidemiology & Drug Safety

Plein Center faculty member, Douglas Barthold, PhD, was first author on a paper published in Pharmacoepidemiology & Drug Safety, along with Plein Center Director, Shelly Gray, Pharm D, MS, and Plein Center Assistant Director, Zach Marcum, PharmD, PhD, which compared risk of dementia for users of non-selective and M3-selective bladder antimuscarinics. In this paper, they found that non-selective and M3-selective bladder antimuscarinic users had similar odds of dementia incidence, but bladder antimuscarinics as a single overall class were associated with increased odds of dementia incidence.
