Incoming Students

 Welcome to the UW, School of Pharmacy

Class of 2018 Website

Your paperwork has been processed and your name has been sent to the University of Washington Admissions Office. Once they receive your information, a UW Packet will be sent to you and you will be asked to submit an enrollment confirmation deposit. This deposit will go towards your tuition and may be payable to “University of Washington” and should be mailed to: UW, Registrar’s Mail Services Office, Box 355850, Seattle, WA 98195-5850. Questions can be sent to regmail@uw.edu

Once this enrollment confirmation deposit is received, a UW student ID number and Private Access Code (PAC) will be issued to you with an enrollment confirmation acknowledgement letter.

Once you receive this information, you may set up a UW Net ID by going to https://uwnetid.washington.edu/newid/ and click on “I don’t have a UW Net ID” and follow the rest of the instructions. If you are a current UW student, you will be able to use the same UW Net ID and student number.


Students who would like to file for the FAFSA, need to contact the University of Washington Financial Aid Office for more information:

http://www.washington.edu/students/osfa/ The priority deadline has passed but students may still file. If you have specific questions about our aid, you may contact Luke Brist.


The 2014-2015 School of Pharmacy is now available, please visit https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/pharminf/203343 to apply. The application is due on Tuesday, July 1st by 5:00pm. PharmD students are eligible to apply but you must use your UW Net ID to apply for the application.

Students who would like information on living on campus may contact the Housing and Food Services Office.

Looking for a roommate? You can post information on our Housing Board and post your ad.


Students interested in gaining residency should contact the University of Washington Residency Classification Office.


Tuition rates and fees for the 2014-2015 academic year is now available:
Resident: $27, 585 per year
Non-Resident: $50, 304 per year

Additional fees include the Health Sciences Fee of $130 per year, course or lab fees $20-$60 per lab/course.

Students are required to obtain a WA State Pharmacy Intern Certificate prior to the start of Winter Quarter of the first year. Students interested in starting an internship may fill out an internship license form and send it to the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission.

To be eligible to start an internship:

1) You must be accepted into a Pharmacy Program

2) Our office must receive satisfactory results on background checks and criminal/conviction form including results from Verified Credentials.

3) Our office must receive all official transcripts from ALL schools attended.

4) All prerequisite courses must be complete.

5) You must have paid the $500 deposit confirming your intent to enroll into the PharmD Program.

We will send your name to the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission (formerly the WA State Board of Pharmacy) once all the above criteria is met.

The Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission will NOT process your request for licensure until they receive your name from our office. Please visit their website at:

Students may start internships whenever they would like. Please note that the internship hours will not accrue until after the first quarter of your first year.

Please check the School of Pharmacy internship webpage for current postings.  Please note that students find internship sites by contacting specific pharmacies directly or by word of mouth. These postings are at the request of these pharmacies.


Registration information will be sent to you at a later date. All Class of 2017 students will register on July 18th at 12:00noontime (Pacific Standard Time). The registration website is now available.


Incoming students will need to have immunization documentation sent in and completed before Fall quarter to be eligible to register for classes. Please review the website and information regarding immunizations and the Health Fee required, please visit the Health Sciences Immunization Program Website.

The Required Health Immunizations for Students Form (Fall 2013 form) needs to be downloaded and filled out. This form is not available yet. We will email you once this form is updated. Please attach all documentation of immunizations to the form and scan. Send via email to: myshots@uw.edu by June 30, 2014. The preferred method of receiving this information is via email but if you have to fax the form and documentation, please do so at: 206-616-8434. You must call their office at 206-616-9074 or email myshots@uw.edu to ensure they received your fax. 

Please note: any students who are not compliant will have their Winter 2014 quarter registration put on hold. Any questions regarding immunizations MUST be sent to myshots@uw.edu.


The School of Pharmacy highly recommends student have health insurance. For more information about Student Health Insurance from the University of Washington, please visit their website.


Please note, the Class of 2018 Fall Orientation will be from Monday, September 15 through Friday, September 19, 2014. Orientation is part of the required PHARM 500 course, and all Orientation events are mandatory to attend. Please adjust your work and vacation plans so that you are able to attend. The Welcome to Profession Ceremony will be on Friday, September 19th. Monday, September 22nd ALL Class of 2018 students will be assigned appointments for their Flu Vaccine and TB testing.

PHARM 500 begins on Monday, September 15th, 2014, on the first day of Orientation week. All other classes begin on the first day of the regular UW Autumn quarter, on Wednesday, September 24, 2014.
