Ambulatory Care:

1) Valley View Clinical Pharmacists/Providence Everett Health System:
VVCP has been providing pharmaceutical care services to the community of Monroe, just 45 minutes northeast of Seattle, since 1981. The goal of the residency program is to produce an advanced clinical practitioner in the community-focused clinic pharmacy, who has a desire to gain clinical pharmacy skills necessary for disease-state management and drug-therapy management.

Many of the services offered at VVCP involves direct patient care and maintenance of growing relationships with clinic providers. As part of the Providence Everett Medical Center (PEMC) network, the clinic pharmacy enjoys a close relationship with the two PEMC hospitals in Everett located 15 miles away

The clinic pharmacy is a professional pharmacy that also provides drug therapy management and durable medical equipment. A consultation room offers privacy for clinical activities. Collaborative practice agreements include anticoagulation, diabetes management, immunizations, medication refills and other clinical services.

Steve Erickson, PharmD, RPh, is the residency preceptor. The resident will be an employee of the Providence Everett Health System, the predominant health system in North King County. A more extensive description of the programs and services of Valley View Clinical Pharmacists can be found in their brochure.

2) Health Point Pharmacy PGY-1 Residency Program:
The HealthPoint Pharmacy system consists of a network of 2 licensed pharmacies and 5 tele-pharmacies or remote pharmacies. The central pharmacy in Kent, WA oversees the 5 tele-pharmacies in the King County area. Our pharmacies are located with the HealthPoint clinics. HealthPoint is a private non-profit healthcare network providing primary healthcare to our patients. We are a member of the North West Primary Care Association and provide healthcare to the under served, indigent and managed care population in the King County area. The pharmacy program started in 2006 and now provides dispensing, tele-pharmacy, and clinical pharmaceutical services to all our clinics.

The HealthPoint Community Care Pharmacy resident will be an integral team member in improving the pharmacy based medication therapy management program, starting an anticoagulation, Diabetes Education and Hyperlipidemia Program. The resident's home pharmacy will be at the Kent Central pharmacy, but may travel to other pharmacy site areas. The residency will become proficient in HealthPoint Electronic Medical records, Dispensing, Tele-Pharmacy, Clinical Protocol and upcoming new pharmacy programs.
