Class of 2013
A Note from the Class of 2013 P-4 Campaign Chairs
(written in January 2013)
We are pleased to announce that our class gift will be a donation to the Pharmacy Practice Enrichment Gift Fund! Established by Peggy Odegard, Bridge endowed professor and chair of the School’s Department of Pharmacy, the purpose of this fund is to provide financial support for professional pharmacy students at the School of Pharmacy who are establishing or implementing innovative pharmacy services within a pharmacy practice setting. Because the role of the pharmacist expands so far beyond dispensing medications, the purpose of this fund is to encourage new and "out of the box" ideas to help move the field of pharmacy into the future.
The fundraising goal for this class gift is 100% participation from the Class of 2013! To that end, there are three donation levels. At each giving level, participants will be entered into a contest for prizes:
- Tier 1 (Penicillin level): Up to $10. At this level, you have a chance to win one of two $10 gift cards to Starbucks.
- Tier 2 (Ceftriaxone level): $10.01 to $40. A chance to win one of five $20 gift cards to Starbucks.
- Tier 3 (Meropenem level): More than $40.01. Each student will receive a t-shirt, and a chance to win one $50 Starbucks gift card.

Practice Enrichment Gift Fund
In 2011, then-Professor of Pharmacy (now Bridge Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy) Peggy Odegard, pictured at left, created an endowment to support pharmacy students who are working to establish or implement innovative pharmacy services within a practice setting. Innovative services can focus on anything from providing expanded clinical services to implementing research to improve patient outcomes.
The Practice Enrichment Gift Fund supports project implementation costs, travel and/or conference fees, research project fees and related costs. To be considered for funding from this endowment, students or their preceptors must submit a proposal that outlines their innovative concept and clearly demonstrates a plan for implementation at a local pharmacy (outpatient, inpatient, clinic or other practice venue).
