Faculty Position in Medicinal Chemistry
The Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level from individuals with interests in areas that complement and enhance the current research strengths of the department. These include drug metabolism, pharmacogenetics and biophysical enzymology. Individuals with specific research interests in mechanistic aspects of drug metabolism and toxicity are especially encouraged to apply. Application of modern mass spectrometry methods is also desirable. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. The department has excellent core resources including a state-of-the-art mass spectrometry facility, NMR and protein expression facilities. The Department also administers The Analytical BioPharmacy Core facility with cutting-edge resources for calorimetry, analytical ultracentrifugation, and Surface Plasmon Resonance. These resources contribute to the outstanding research environment of The University of Washington, which provides a wide range of opportunities for collaborative research within the department, school and university (http://sop.washington.edu/medchem/). Responsibilities of the position include graduate and professional student teaching, mentoring of graduate students and the development of a vigorous, independent and externally funded research program. University of Washington faculty are fully engaged in teaching, research, and service.
