Nelson-Mendenhall Summer Scholars Program

The Nelson-Mendenhall Summer Scholars Program (NMP) provides funded opportunities for undergraduate students – from two- and four-year colleges and universities – to conduct research with faculty members at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy.

NHP Scholars will have the chance to spend 10 weeks working side-by-side with graduate students, research scientists, and UW faculty on projects from developing an HIV vaccine or new treatments for dementia, to understanding how medications affect babies in the womb, to creating better and safer treatments for brain injuries and cancer.

Pharmacological Sciences Training Program

The primary objective of this predoctoral training grant program in Pharmacological Sciences is to develop scientists equipped with the necessary background in the basic biological and physical sciences, and training in the application of modern tools of research and instrumental techniques to undertake and direct fundamental research related to drug action, metabolism and kinetics.

STEP Summer Program

Students Exploring Pharmacy (STEP) is a customized program designed to inspire Seattle-area high school students as they explore pharmacy as a career option. Students engage in hands-on activities that provide an introduction to pharmacy practice and perspective on the numerous ways a pharmacist contributes to improving people’s health—in ways that go far beyond dispensing medications.
